SILAS CAPITAL is a venture and growth equity firm investing in the NEXT GENERATION OF CONSUMER BRANDS.
Founded by Carter Weiss & Frank Lin in 2011, both partners are former entrepreneurs who understand first-hand how to build exceptional companies, as well as longtime investors with a successful track record across consumer, internet and technology sectors. Silas Capital differentiates itself by being one of the few experienced firms that specialize in early-stage consumer products and retail companies (under $20M in sales). Investments range from healthy food companies like Bare Snacks (acquired by VMG) to e-commence brands such as Boll & Branch in their growth equity portfolio, to start-up darlings like Casper, Tracksmith on the venture side.
Carter co-founded Built NY, Inc. in 2003 and for 7 years as CEO grew the company into an internationally recognized and highly profitable consumer products brand, taking sales from zero to approximately $30 million (with total equity invested of $1.5 million). The company grew to selling in over 50 countries around the world with retailers including Amazon, Apple, MoMA, Target and Whole Foods. BUILT was acquired by Lifetime Brands, Inc. (Nasdaq: LCUT).

Tracksmith makes premium performance apparel that celebrates the style and culture of running. The brand represents a new breed of performance and lifestyle apparel targeting the avid runner and the brand's New England aesthetic is a direct response to the overload of flashy clothes that saturate the market. Tracksmith fills a void in this market, bringing together quality craftsmanship, performance fabrics and classic styling. You could call Tracksmith the anti-Nike. The company was founded in 2013 by Matt Taylor, a former competitive runner and Puma executive, and Luke Scheybeler, co-founder and former creative director of the iconic cycling brand Rapha.
